The "finished" piece

Ah, I kinda wrapped it up from there... I continued with the other characters in the same manor as the necro, but I used a different method of drawing the skin; I used a dark base and then built up the light in the face on the ele and the para, but on the necro I did a light base.

In colouring, I used the original colours from the print screens as much as I could, but on some points I couldn't get a good drop; the colour I got from the screeny was not good for the drawing so I replaced it with a colour that gave of the hue I wanted. I did that for the necro's skin as I didn't like the shading work on the screeny; being dark night and all (screen prints comes from character select screen, which for those who knows should know exactly what I mean) so I just took a skin as I wanted it. I think she looks much nicer.

For the box I used very simple yet nice methods;
I took an off white hue, more to the grey than yellow though, to not make it "shine" too much, and slightly off:ed colour can give a nice or a much nicer image. For the ribbon I used a bright red as a base, then used a transparent brush with a dark and deep red. I started from the edges and went inwards towards the "shine", makes it look fairly authentic.

There's not much more I can say other than that I am kinda satisfied with it. I don't know about the necro's line-art colour though; it stands out a little too much for my taste, but I liked how you can see the lines of the hair. I might go over it a little here and there; especially as some of the lineart basically should be a part of the colouring *cough*the necro's arm; deviding of the lover arm piece of the glove and hand*cough*

I like how I got the characters personality in their looks and that they look kinda alike the real deal in the "feel". Personally the challenge to me lies in transforming realistic eyes into manga eyes, and still keep the "feel" of them.

Da necro

Did my usual routine with her, although this is the first time I am drawing her armour. Flats first, then building up the colour with partly transparent brushes.

stepping forward two steps

So above we have the bases for the BG, and below the first draft on the "finished" BG, though I might go back and do some edits on the snow on the branches. I haven't really made snow before so, bear with it please. I will probably add some clouds or similar to the heaven. Maybe even an other shade on the sky, not really happy with it as it is now.

Lineart done

The chibis are done, and I changed my mind about having the box's content show. Looks better this way, I think.

Some details will be added when I color, especially on the necro.

First Draft

I decided to enter "Wintersday Workshop" at Guild Wars Guru. This is the process diary, or something like it. I am horrible at doing these kinds of things, hated it in school too... *am a do-it-all-in-one-go kind of person*

This is the idea concept of the image. Yes they will be chibis, and the faces are just so they won't be faceless unidentifiable plumps.

Not much else to say at this point, I will post anew when I have done the final line-art.
